Adventurous terrain flying involves flying across difficult regions normally involving mountains, rivers or large grounds features. This flying involves lots planning in relation to weather and target flying while navigating across the target terrain.
Altitude flying involves flying to heights above 10,000ft where pilots are required to be equipped with oxygen. These flights require strict planning with regards to upper level winds along with oxygen management.
Duration flying involves flying for as long as safely possible. Some duration flight tasks dictate the amount of fuel that can be used so pilots must fly the balloon efficiently as possible to ensure maximum flight time can be achieved.
Distance flying involves flying as far as safely possible. Distance flying conditions are best when the upper winds are fast, and the lower winds are slow ensuring the task can be completed while allowing for calm launch and landing segments.
Specialty flying involves flights comprising of a certain task of which is normally not a part of a regular adventure flight. These flights may involve night flying, skydiving, tethering or film stunts.
